Grupo flagrado com escravos perde apoio da Petrobras
Em abril de 2007, o grupo móvel de fiscalização do governo federal libertou 77 trabalhadores da Usina Itarumã, no município de mesmo nome em Goiás. A usina, que conta com incentivos fiscais do governo estadual, ainda está em fase de instalação e deve operar a todo vapor na produção de etanol a partir do início de 2010.
A Energética do Cerrado Açúcar e ÁlcooL controladora da usina, entrou na “lista suja” do trabalho escravo em dezembro do ano passado devido à libertação.
A Petrobras e a japonesa Mitsui haviam se associado à Itarumã Participações (Itarupar), que têm como sócios majoritários produtores canavieiros de Ribeirão Preto (SP), para viabilizar negócios no setor sucroalcooleiro. A entrada na “lista suja” da Energética do Cerrado, sob comando da Itarupar e responsável pela Usina Itarumã, acendeu a luz amarela e o assunto chegou à cúpula da Petrobras e do governo federal. Houve consultas ao Ministério do Trabalho e Emprego sobre a situação encontrada na usina.
A Petrobras decidiu deixar a sociedade com a empresa.
Quem entra nessa relação, não pode obter créditos nos bancos públicos federais e sofre restrições de empresas signatárias do Pacto Nacional pela Erradicação do Trabalho Escravo.
Se tal exemplo for seguido pela cadeira produtiva do agronegócio e quetais certamente teremos mudanças significativas neste cenário perfido, cruel e desumano.
